Sette Fratelli Nature Park
Green Oasis in the Mountains

Sette Fratelli Nature Park

From the terrace, you can see the mountains and the Sette Fratelli nature park to the west. Spanning ten thousand hectares of forest across the mountains, this area is one of the greenest and most fascinating places in Sardinia.

The mountain range consists of seven peaks—hence the name Sette Fratelli (Seven Brothers)—reaching heights of around 1,000 meters. Scenic drives and challenging hikes are highly recommended here. The area offers spectacular views, waterfalls, and a rich variety of flora and fauna.

In summer, the mountains provide welcome cooling, while in spring the entire area blooms with wildflowers. A paradise for nature lovers, photographers, and hikers looking for authentic Sardinia, far from the tourist crowds.

Nuraghe Moros & Castiadas
History & Culture

Nuraghe Moros & Castiadas

A short distance from Casa Moros lies Nuraghe Moros, one of the 6,500 towers built in Sardinia during the Bronze Age. These mysterious structures form one of the island’s most important archaeological heritages and offer a fascinating glimpse into the ancient civilization that lived here thousands of years ago.

In Castiadas, you’ll find the former prison. This penal colony was established in 1875 and at one point became the largest prison camp in Italy, covering more than 6,000 hectares and housing around 2,000 inmates. The prison was closed in 1952, but the development of the region had already begun.

The old building, complete with a small museum and cells furnished with wooden beds, can still be visited and offers an impressive insight into the harsh living conditions of the past. The history of Castiadas is unique and forms an intriguing contrast with the peace and beauty that characterize the area today.
